It was a Hell of a Party
I can’t begin to talk about how awesome our anniversary party was. I guess so awesome that I feel like I’ve now fully recovered. First off, it’s been a crazy year so far full of changes. With focusing on month by month, the party planning happened a little later than I like to, but man it was a hell of a good time! First off, let me thank our staff who kicked ass that day and to my father-in-law and our “uncle” for stepping in to help keep us going like a well oiled machine that day. We had so many fun things going on and a ton of awesome beer. We had so many new beers that we had two jockey boxes to add to our 12 taps totaling 16 beers that day! We had Trinity Cigar Co who had an amazing lodge trailer where he used his expertise to pair our beers with any one of his many cigars. We then had a local food truck: Farmer in the Hive who sold out of almost everything by the end of the night. Their gyros, elk sliders, and sausage are all top notch. If you haven’t tried them out, you really need to follow them. We have them at the brewery on weekends once in a while as we rotate through our local line up. We had Dress Up Alley who is a traveling clothing trailer owned by a close friend of the brewery, Shannon and her sister, Misty. We had a corn hole tournament to play for a cash prize when our 2018 1st and 2nd place battled again and this year the latter won! Congrats teams! We also had Jack’s Axe Throwing come later in the day letting people bring out their inner lumber jack. To top off the night we had our favorite band, Star Six Nine doing their awesome 90s covers - so much fun to watch and listen to!
We wanted something special to remember this year by, not just one day. When you own a business you go down many roads. You meet new people, pay bills, lose employees (Jules you are right down the road!), you gain employees. You put together events, community fundraising, think of new beer recipes and what is the hottest new trend. Wrap that up and you have quite an adventure. So with being in Colorado this year’s theme was, “All who wander need beer.” We designed special glasses to represent the hike of ups and downs and to represent the beauty of the place that we live in. The glass was specially designed by Bret Jensen, a friend of the brewery and local designer. To complement the glass we have 32oz. crowler koozies and new t-shirts!
Now on to ALL DA BEERS! Oh man, it was hard to pick a favorite. We had four different versions of our milkshake IPA between Peaches’n’Cream, Strawberry Vanilla, Pink Guava and Mango Coconut. We even made the Strawberry Vanilla and Mango Coconut into beer smoothies! For those familiar with our Squirrel Stash amber ale, we made an imperial version, clocking in at 10% abv, a smooth and sweet English style barley wine, finished off with a hefty dose of hazelnut. You can’t celebrate without a little bit of fun ;). Another celebration was our 100th batch with our BRUT: The Machine - Brut IPA. We had our West Gaze Haze back on tap and even tried something that we had no clue how the public would respond… Pickled’n’Peeled, our cucumber sour with added pickle juice and salt. Oh mighty in heaven was it better than I imagined it would be. Pair it with the perfect Cuban, slider, or you know something else that goes good with pickles and it just makes your taste buds go crazy! Stay tuned, because it may be making an appearance again. These were just the additions to some of our other traditional beers we had on tap. I can’t wait to see what else our brewer has in store for us for the rest of the year! I also can’t wait to brew the pumpkin again because I think brewing it together made it all that much more special. <3 … Ok that was cheesy, but if any of you know the brewer and I that’s what we are! Ok, Nick is just as cheesy when we all get together.
After all is said and done it comes down to you, the craft beer enthusiast. You support our little local brewery and everyone in it. You are more than a customer, everyone was family that day. There were so many awesome people, new faces, and our in house regulars. We couldn’t do this without you and all of your support! We hope everyone had just as much fun as we did. I couldn’t have asked for a better party. Who knows what we will do next year!
